Mailchimp Onboarding Resources

[KB]

After you create your Mailchimp account, it’s time to optimize your brand marketing. Our all-in-one marketing platform has powerful tools to help you achieve your goals, and it’s important to begin with a strong foundation.

In this article, we’ll provide resources on Mailchimp basics to get you started.

Account settings

Your profile icon is the hub for account settings and billing information. Edit your contact information, set up account security, manage user levels, and more within the Account & billing tab. You can also review your current monthly plan and next billing cycle, change your monthly plan at any time, and access the Integrations page from the same tab.

Audience management

Your Mailchimp audience is where contact data is managed and stored. Start from scratch or add your existing contacts to grow engagement with your brand. Audiences can contain different types of contacts based on their email marketing status. As a best practice, we recommend you maintain 1 primary audience in Mailchimp, and use tags and segments to organize and target your contacts.

To make growth simple, use a Mailchimp signup form to allow people to join your audience. Signup forms not only streamline the opt-in process, but they ensure proper permission. It’s important to get permission from contacts who want to receive your email marketing campaigns.

Automations

With Mailchimp’s automation tools, you can build streamlined marketing experiences for your contacts. Create a Customer Journey map using any combination of starting points, rules, and actions. At various points in the journey, your contacts will follow just one of the multiple paths you set up based on their traits or choices.

Campaigns

Mailchimp “campaigns” refer to email and other marketing messages that you share with your audience. We provide you with flexible settings and design options that allow you to customize your brand experience. Send an email campaign, run a Facebook ad, design a postcard, share a social post, or create a landing page to engage and grow your Mailchimp audience.

Content studio

Use the content studio to store and manage images, documents, and other files that you plan to share with your contacts. Within the content studio, work with Mailchimp’s Creative Assistant to apply your brand to unique, customized email templates. You can also manage your imported files, product images, Giphy files, Instagram content, and your brand logo.

Integrations

Integrations connect your Mailchimp account with your other business and personal accounts so you can share information between them. Use that shared information to create segments in your Mailchimp audience and send targeted email campaigns to your subscribed contacts. If you have an e-commerce account outside of Mailchimp, set up an integration to connect your store to Mailchimp and view revenue data in your email campaign reports and contact profiles.
